Eight years ago, a phone call captured something no one could prove. Now the voice is returning in fragments through a recording that never contained it.
Fourteen months after the Extension 214 case, sound technician Lívia Duarte takes a job documenting a memory center before it closes. During an ordinary recording session, a voice appears in her monitor feed. It is absent from the raw file, belongs to no one in the room, and arrives in pieces that seem to connect a former night watchman to the clearance of workers' housing years earlier.
As Lívia tries to reconstruct what happened, the deadline to empty the center draws closer, her access begins to shrink, and her questions reach people with a stake in keeping the official story intact. Each fragment offers another clue. It also raises the risk that someone else's life will be turned into evidence without her consent.
To protect a woman who never asked to be found, Lívia must separate what she heard from what she assumed and decide whether a story can be preserved without being claimed.
