This brief focuses on translational criminology practices as they relate to counter-terrorism and homeland security. The work provides a detailed and practical examination of how global threats (such as terrorism, trafficking, and victimization) are managed through local response teams. It covers emerging strategies from new data collection procedures, inter-agency cooperation, and new analytical techniques for problem solving and decision-making. The authors examine these issues while considering how law enforcement responds to security threats including terrorism but also extending to cross-national organized crime, trafficking, drugs, and other topics. This work will condense and expand§on existing literature covering the impact that globalization has on cross§national threats, from disciplines related to criminology, such as international relations and political science.§
