Teljes leírás

The global consumption of fish and seafood is increasing annually, as they are rich sources of protein. Statistically, 65-70% of the total protein consumed by humans comes from farm animals and poultry (including milk, eggs, and meat), while the remaining 30-35% is derived from fish and other seafood. Over the past 50 years, fish production has doubled worldwide, rising from 9 kilograms per capita to 21 kilograms, and is projected to reach 30 kilograms per capita in the next decade. The quality of fish feed raw materials is a concern, as about 50-55% are often contaminated with mycotoxins-metabolic products of microscopic fungi.Mycotoxins pose significant risks to farm animals, poultry, and fish due to their pronounced toxicity. Recent research has focused on the effectiveness of mycotoxin adsorbents, with numerous options available on the global market.Additionally, our research aimed to study the effectiveness of bentonite clay of aluminosilicate origin (Askangel) from Georgia as a new natural adsorbent of mycotoxins in aquaculture, as described in the mentioned book."
