WHY RON?
This is not where you should meet the Waiter.
If you've never visited the Time Merchant Café, never met Helen, Hercules, or the immortal man who serves the best coffee of any time, there are better places to begin.
Why Ron? is for readers who already know the World of the Immortal Waiter.
For years, Ron has recorded the Waiter's stories, read his journals, traveled with him through time, and occasionally found himself involved in events he would have preferred to observe from a safe distance.
There has always been one question.
Why Ron?
Ron isn't immortal.
He isn't a hero.
He has no extraordinary abilities.
Even the Waiter considers him merely an adequate writer.
Yet forces the Waiter doesn't fully understand have placed Ron at his side-and apparently intend to keep him there.
When a series of seemingly unrelated events begins following Ron and Paula from a quiet vacation in Greece, Hercules realizes someone-or something-is trying to kill Ron.
Finding out who is behind it only raises more questions.
Someone-or something-has been studying history.
It knows things that shouldn't be possible.
It knows the Waiter.
And for reasons no one understands, it has decided Ron needs to die.
Before it's over, the Waiter, Helen, Hercules, Athena, and a few very old friends will become involved. What begins as an attempt to keep one very ordinary man alive grows into something much larger-the future of civilization itself.
And eventually, everyone is asking the same question.
Why Ron?
Why Ron? is a novel for readers already familiar with the World of the Immortal Waiter and the characters who inhabit it.
If you're new to the Waiter's world, don't start here.
There are twelve books waiting to explain why.
